Neutral Colors Stand the Test of Time
Color trends come and go. Think about the avocado-green and burnt orange that was popular in the 1970s—it’s a trend that has gone now, just like the beige interiors of the 1990s. If you want to save yourself the time and expense of redecorating every few years, neutral colors are the way to go for a perfect base. Shades of white, gray, black, and brown are not exclusive to a period or artistic movement and can be accessorized with colorful throws, pillows, art, and furnishings that are much easier to interchange as your style and trends evolve.
Choose a Palette
It doesn’t matter what decor style or colors you prefer—you will likely want a cohesive design throughout your home. Choose a base color that will be featured in every room.
