When you think of sheer shades, you may think of your grandmother’s sheer curtains. Shapeless, without style, and very generic looking. Today’s sheer shades are attractive, elegant, and serve up a whole lot of style. They are an easy way to add a touch of subtle sophistication to any room. We’d like to share the many benefits of sheer shades with you.
Gently Filter Light
Certain spaces, like living rooms and bathrooms, require light and privacy. When pulled back, opaque drapes expose your rooms to large amounts of light and reduce privacy. Sheer window shadings gently filter light into a comforting glow and offer UV protection.
They’re Beautiful
Sheer shades add a bit of softness, texture, and whimsy to any room. Adding them helps to create a warm, welcoming environment that looks put together without being overly formal. Silhouette® Window Shadings from Hunter Douglas feature S-shaped vanes that float gracefully between two sheer panels. The extra sheer panel allows for increased natural light without compromising your privacy. The fabric vanes can be tilted for extra light and privacy management when desired.
For a more minimalist aesthetic, Pirouette® Window Shadings are beautifully refined. Soft fabric vanes are attached to a single sheer backing. When the vanes are adjusted, they move in tandem to create a graceful, fluid effect.
UV Protection
You know that wearing sunscreen when you go outdoors is a must for safety, but did you know those same UV rays are damaging your home’s interior? Repeated exposure to UV rays from the sun will discolor and fade furniture, floor coverings, and artwork. Sheer window shadings from Hunter Douglas can block up to 99% of harmful UV rays when the vanes are closed and around 80% when they are tilted open.
